Solidworks

Solidworks finalisation
Solo project
Briefing
We got to do two assignments for this subject.
Assignment 1: We chose an organically shaped animation figure which we needed to model in Solidworks. Solidworks is not built for this purpose so we had to touch the limits of its capabilities.
Assignment 2: We had to design and model a bluetooth speaker with three variations; one resembling an animal, one low end and one high end.
Intro
The final class in Solidworks at university contained a couple of functions we didn't touch in classes before that. Functions like surfaces, configurations, master model and fastening features. This course was evaluated through two assignments.
Surfacing
I chose Squidward from SpongeBob for this exercise. I think it's fun to see him rendered with these more realistic materials, instead of the usual pixelated cartoon style.
Bluetooth speaker
We needed to start with the animal and make configurations in Solidworks to differentiate a basic and a high end model. I chose an owl as inspiration.
Internal components
We also had to make an exploded view so the inside had to be designed as well. We also needed to make use of fastening features (like mounting bosses, lips and grooves), Solidworks toolbox models, master model concept and the design table in configurations.
